Pixies (Pre Kindy) / Kindy Room- caters for children aged 3-5 years. Here at Aspen Community Early Learning Centre we offer a Government Approved Kindergarten Program, delivered by Qualified and Registered Early Childhood Teachers.
“Free Kindy for Queensland in 2024” and 2025
Starting in 2024 and continuing in 2025, all eligible children enrolled in Aspen Kindy Program for either the 9 or 10 hour daily session will get 15 hours a week (2days) for 40 weeks of free kindy. This is part of the Queensland Government's push for affordable access to quality early childhood education. Every child in their pre-prep year (or years; some children do a couple of years of kindy) will get 600 hours of free kindy starting.
Eligibility - Children aged at least 4 years of age by 30 June in the year before they attend
Prep are eligible for the Kindy Program.
- attend an approved kindergarten for at least 15 hours per week, 40 weeks of the year
Aspen Community Early Learning Centre is a long day care service, families will need to pay for the hours of care before and after the kindy program. These costs may be covered in part by the Australian Government Child Care Subsidy.
The Queensland Government will fund 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year of free Kindy. The outstanding amount, if family is receiving CCS, could be split between CCS and you (gap fee payment). If your family is eligible for CCS, you'll keep claiming this, so some of the costs, outside of Kindy Program hours and/or days are covered, and you would pay the gap difference.
