Education
Researchers have long been advocating the importance of the first five years of life to children’s overall learning and development.
The Australian Government has ensured that children Australia wide have access to high, quality early childhood education.
In line with the National Quality Framework, childcare centres throughout Australia provide a nationally recognised Pre-prep program that is delivered by a Registered, University trained Early Childhood Bachelor Teacher.
The Pre-prep education program complies with the Early Years Learning Framework (this forms a big part of the National Quality Agenda) and be made available to children who turn 4 years by 30 June in the current year.
At Aspen Community Child Care we are approved by the Queensland Government to provide a recognised Pre-prep program that is offered every day by our teacher.
Our Teacher is university trained, with a Bachelor in Early Childhood Education; she is also registered with the Queensland Teacher’s College.
The learning program is play based and child oriented. Children are observed on a regular basis to see where their interests and learning lay, so that the Educator in their room can structure the program based on these interests and learning styles.
This makes for a learning program that is more relevant to the children and which research has indicated fosters a love of learning.
The Early Years Learning Framework also puts a big emphasis on the importance of parental involvement within the children’s learning program. At Aspen Community Child Care, we have an open door policy and we strongly encourage the parents to come and get involved in their children’s learning. Parental involvement and feedback is always encouraged and welcomed at our Centre.
The children in our care will be equipped with the necessary skills, both educationally and socially, to venture into their future learning.
